10 SYMPTOMS OF SNAPPER FEVER

Can you reverse a trailer faster than your wife can drive in a forward direction? Do you eat, sleep and breathe around the moon, tide and barometer? Have your frozen peas been mysteriously replaced by Ziploc bags full of squid? If you answered yes to any of these questions, there’s a good chance you have snapper fever. So with summer around the corner, this week funny fishing duo, the Bear and the Fox take the reins and talk you through the 10 symptoms of snapper fever…

1. You believe that a lost snapper due to line breakage is the fault of Shimano's quality control officer in Xiangkhouang Province.

2. You convince your wife that the kids need new 4500 Baitrunners for Christmas, and it'd be best for you to test them first.

3. For those still with wives and kids, the boat turns into a floating crèche. This is followed by a sudden increase in the divorce rate.

4. Screaming out "I’M ON!" whilst daydreaming at the Management meeting.

5. You break the land speed record between work, home and the boat ramp on Friday night.

6. Every morsel of food in the boat looks like a potential snapper bait.

7. The frozen peas have been mysteriously replaced by Ziploc bags full of squid.

8. You eat, sleep and breathe around the moon, tide and barometer.

9. Every man with a boat is your mortal enemy. And when confrontation is unavoidable, you feign interest in their boat, angling for any secret information that might reveal a snapper spot.

10. You can reverse a trailer faster than your wife can drive in a forward direction.

Note: snapper fever is only curable by whiting fever. Marlin fever is far more serious. And can only be treated with a 20-foot boat, 150+ horses and a fishing reel bigger than a 4x4 winch.
